A friend of mine who is familiar (and a bit confused) with my obsession with my cat Vivié recommended Bukowski’s reflections on cats, a collection by Harper Collins. And, needless to say, I am absolutely delighted.

The more cats you have, the longer you live. If you have a hundred cats, you’ll live ten times longer than if you have ten. Someday this will be discovered, and people will have a thousand cats and live forever.

Writing is also my cat. Writing lets me face it.

Disclaimer: I’m sure Bukowski wasn’t talking about big cats as seen in Netflix’s Tiger King. But here’s Vivié who is both fascinated and befuddled with Joe Exotic…:

I always love Murakami’s account of acting as a midwife to one of his cats:

I love this! It’s also made me emotional–can’t think of my kitty dying 😦 What a lovely tribute, though.

Such a great idea for a post Neri, cats are such a pleasure in life, I love how every one of them is so unique a bit moody, like people hehe

Yep they definitely are…Although I am unusual in that I love dogs and cats equally, both are beautiful in their own ways.
